What Can you do About Missing Shingles on Your Roof?

When you look up at your roof, do you notice that shingles are slowing missing or falling off your roof like the picture below? You have to take care of this. Even though water may not be pouring into your home today, it has a path to the wood deck underneath and over time will rot it away. Once this happens, you will have a channel for water to enter your home. Believe it or not, many people don’t pay attention to this and when they experience a leak, it’s usually a big one and they also can’t believe how much damage it has caused.

If you’re not too sure what to do, let Castle come by and inspect your home. There are a couple of reasons why your shingles may be falling off. Castle’s roofing specialist are highly knowledgeable with finding storm damage on your roof and if this is the reason, we can provide you with the information you need to file an insurance claim and give you pointers that can assist you through the process. Our roofing specialists know the process well will make sure that you know exactly what to expect before you even file a claim. Once the claim in approved we will provide you a timely and quality installation.

Another reason your shingles may be missing is that they were “high nailed”. This means that the installer did not nail them in the strike zone that is provided on the back of each shingle. When a shingle is high nailed, the shingle below it may not have enough nails in it or in some cases any at all. Unfortunately, this is a common situation and poor workmanship is the reason.

No matter what the reason your shingles are missing, Castle can help. Give us a call and we’ll get you back on track with a proper roof installation.
